Being an atheist and all, I’m very concerned that we need a new poster boy. If anyone’s having a go at ‘militant atheism’ or ‘fundamentalist atheism’, you know what’s going to happen in the third line of anything being written; they’re going to say how unappealing Richard Dawkins is, then rest most of their argument on that. It’s a bit like basing a critique of all religion around not liking the overall style of Ian Paisley.

So we need a warmer, friendlier atheist. A Rebecca Adlington of god-doubting.

Selfish Pigs, which is my new book, is out very soon now. Just a week or two. Can’t wait to start re-arranging it for prominence in the shops.
